Dr. Burns

Jeffrey S. Burns, DDS graduated from the West Virginia School of Dentistry in 1994.  He maintains a private practice focused on Aesthetic, Implant & Reconstructive Dentistry in New Market, VA.  Dr. Burns graduated from the Midwest Implant Institute under the direction of Dr. Alfred Heller.  He attended the Pacific Aesthetic Continuum where he studied with Dr. David Hornbrook.  He has also studied with the Dr. Larry Rosental of Aesthetic Advantage, Dr. Ross Nash, Dr. Tom Trinker and Matt Roberts.

Dr. Burns has a passion for cosmetic dentistry and guest services and it is evident through his enthusiasm and genuine desire to improve his guests’ lives.  He also strives to improve himself by continually staying abreast of the latest techniques and advancements.  He completes over 100 hours of continuing education annually.

Dr. Burns has received many awards for his smile design/reconstruction dentistry.  Most recently he received two gold medals, one silver medal and the prestigious People’s Choice Award at the 2006 American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Conference in San Diego.  These awards were based on four separate entries that were submitted among several hundred other doctor’s case entries. He truly believes that creating beautiful smiles through exceptional dentistry will increase the value of someone’s life.

Dr. Burns spends much of his time with his wife and their three children. They are actively involved with little league sports and traveling softball.  The dedication that he has for his family and his practice are reasons that patients continue to return time and time again.

 Laurie, RDH, Hygiene Coordinator

Laurie graduated from West Virginia University in 1985, where she attained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene.  Her many years of practice have been rewarding and fulfilling.  She joined Dr. Burns’ practice in 1995-the year he opened.  The care of her guests is of the utmost importance to her and is enhanced by the compassion and gentleness she expresses.  Outside of the office, she thoroughly enjoys her active lifestyle with her husband, Mike and their four children.

 Dana, RDH, Website Coordinator & Marketing Management

Dana graduated Cum Laude from Virginia Western, where she attained an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science.  She enjoys interacting with her guests and gives them the high quality care that she feels they deserve.  She has a passion for making their teeth feel “squeaky” clean.  You will never see her without a smile on her face and she strives to keep a smile on yours! When Dana is not at the office she is actively involved in softball and she dotes on her three pups: Pippie, Gnarly and Petie.

 Janie, Treatment Coordinator/Surgical Assistant

Janie has been a part of Dr. Burns’ dental team since the opening of his private practice in 1995.  She assists Dr. Burns during surgical procedures, presents treatment options to the new and established guest.  Janie follows up with each patient that she discusses treatment options with as well as schedules their appointments and follow ups.  She graduated with honors from the Midwest Implant Institute.  She has also graduated from Pac Live in San Francisco, Tom Trinker and Matt Roberts’ The Beauty of a Smile, Ross Nash’s Posterior Cosmetic Dentistry.  Janie’s high energy level and commitment to the office are evident in all that she does.  She loves to play an intricate part in changing people’s lives and seeing what a beautiful smile can do for ones confidence.  While at home, Janie loves to read and spend time with her husband, Wesley and their three children. They also manage a poultry and beef operation on their family farm.

 Ginger, Dental Assistant, Clinical Coordinator

Ginger has been a dental assistant since 1995.  She is Dr. Burns’ chair side assistant.  She has a true passion for guest care and has a great expertise in sterilization to ensure her utmost safety for our guests.  She shares her knowledge and kindness with each person that passes through the office ensuring that they leave her chair a better guest then they were when they sat down.  Ginger has a genuine love of dentistry and gives all that she has to each one of her guests.  It is evident with all that she does each day. At home, Ginger enjoys spending time with her husband, Greg and son, Timmy.  She loves country music and enjoys renovating real estate.

 Sara, Dental Assistant, Lab Coordinator

In 2001 Sara completed the Dental Assisting program at Massanutten Technical Center and has loved being a dental assistant ever since.  Sara enjoys getting to know her patients while making sure they are at ease in the dental chair.  She is very excited about joining a team that is always learning and continuing to strive for excellence.  Outside the office Sara enjoys spending time with her husband, Jason and son, Gage.  She also enjoys reading, scrapbooking and just enjoying life with family and friends.

 Andrea, Schedule Coordinator

Andrea is our appointment coordinator.  She is so excited to be able to be a part of such an amazing group of individuals and strives to excel in all that she does.  She is anxious to be a part of smile designs and feels that your smile is one of your best assets.  At home she enjoys spending time with her three energetic boys, Shawn, Jacob and Brandon.

 Teri, Financial & Insurance Coordinator

Teri is our financial coordinator.  She has a genuine excitement for the opportunity to help guests.  Teri is a caretaker by heart and is thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful and compassionate group of individuals. At home, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, Megan.  She also enjoys spending time with her family, working at church, reading and loves animals, especially her cat, Jazzy.

 Teresa, Spa Director & Licensed Aesthetician

Teresa is a licensed cosmetologist and licensed aesthetician. She has a genuine desire to go above and beyond what the guest deserves.  She has caring hands and heart to feed their spirit. She believes that having the opportunity to improve a guest’s life, in an atmosphere of teamwork is truly a privilege.  She has a zest for life that is priceless! At home, she enjoys time with her husband, David and their son, Zack.  She loves traveling with her family, advocating and lecturing on Autism, creative painting, and hiking. Teresa would love to pamper you as a guest so,
